The reunion
These paintings celebrate the freedom to reunite with old friends after covid. A group of women who first met in 1976, and for whom a connection continued through marriage, children and living in different parts of the world. We reunited in 2022…..travelling from Madison in WI, New York NY, Gloucestershire in the UK, Utrecht in the Netherlands, and Sydney in Australia to get together in Yorkshire in the UK. Wild swimming, visits to old ruins, long walks and lots of wine and food ensued. Having painted people separated by phones, and other people working through difficult times, how could I not celebrate the ability to reconnect with friends? I loved making these paintings, and I love being able to see them around me every day. These are my love letters to my oldest and dearest friends.
